Time is still on your side to potentially win prizes for helping out animals in need.

B.C. SPCA Lottery is approaching its May 2 deadline for ticket sales for early bird prizes, which includes a chance to win $8,000. Even if you win, your ticket will be re-entered into the prize draw every day in June.

“The 50/50 tickets sold out in just 12 days and we are expecting the lottery to sell out too,” said Carina Stirling, B.C. SPCA officer of fundraising events, in a press release. “The final ticket sales deadline is May 19, which is approaching fast. You really don’t want to miss out – the prizes are huge and there are 31 chances to win.”

Money raised through the lottery goes toward urgently needed medical care, sheltering, spay and neuter surgeries, advocacy, adoption, foster care programs and other services the B.C. SPCA provides for homeless, abused and neglected animals across the province.

There are daily cash prizes throughout June totaling $100,000, including $5,000 ‘Lucky Mutt Monday’ prizes and $5,000 prizes on ‘Fat Cat Fridays’, as well as a Father’s Day jackpot of $10,000.

The early bird deadline is midnight on May 2. Final sales deadline is May 19 at midnight.

Tickets cost $25 each; three for $60; and five for $90.
