The Saanich Community Association Network has elected a new chair after former chair Fred Haynes won a seat on council and vacated the position last month.
John Schmuck, president of the Quadra Cedar Hill Community Association, becomes SCAN chair while Katherine Whitworth from Royal Oak Community Association becomes the association’s treasurer.
SCAN meets on the first Wednesday of every month at 7:15 p.m. at the Saanich Police Station and includes members from Saanich’s 18 community associations.
