Christmas in Colwood comes to The Commons in Royal Bay Dec. 2!
Hosted by GableCraft Homes and the City of Colwood from 5:30 to approximately 8 p.m., this family-focused, community event is the perfect way to kick-off the holidays and enjoy a long-standing South Island tradition, the IEOA Truck Parade!
“We’re thrilled to be partnering with the City of Colwood and bringing the IEOA Truck Parade to Royal Bay as part of our first annual Christmas in Colwood celebration,” says GableCraft Homes Marketing Manager, Cortney Paone. “We’re excited to be the final stop for the trucks this year and participate in this important community fundraiser for our local food banks.”
The IEOA Truck Parade is a much-anticipated annual event that welcomes thousands of South Island families along the route, running from the Breakwater district of Downtown Victoria to the West Shore and this year, right into the heart of Royal Bay.
Christmas in Colwood will showcase a variety of music performances, with popular holiday favourites to get everyone into the holiday spirit. Families can look forward to holiday-themed activities and are encouraged to bring non-perishable donations for the food bank, with donation bins located by the hot beverage station, where drinks will also be available by donation.
The Commons Plaza and Meadow Park will twinkle with their Christmas lights, to be enjoyed prior to the trucks’ arrival. The trucks are scheduled to arrive at 8 p.m. but the time is an estimate, Paone notes, as it’s the first year with this new parade route.
