Nominate great teachers

Local parents and students are encouraged to recognize great teachers at this year’s Premier’s Awards for Teaching Excellence. Oak Bay-Gordon Head MLA Ida Chong is calling for nominations of local teachers who have made a difference in their students’ learning and lives. The province will highlight up to 20 outstanding teachers. The celebration and awards ceremony will be in spring 2008.

Nominees must currently be teaching grades K-12 at public, independent or band schools. The deadline for nominations is Dec. 14. Go to www.bced.gov.bc.ca/teacherawards.
