Elderly woman robbed at bank

An elderly woman was knocked to ground the during an afternoon robbery at University Heights Shopping Centre Jan. 21.

The woman, who police say "was quite shaken-up," had her purse stolen near the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, but could not identify if the suspect was on foot or in a vehicle.

Saanich Police and BC Ambulance Service attended the call at approximately 3:45 p.m., when the woman was treated for minor injuries.

Police request any witnesses contact the non-emergency line at 250-475-4321.
