Tire iron used to smash window of Saanich retail store

A tire iron was used to smash out the front glass window at a Saanich store early Tuesday morning.

Saanich police are looking for a suspect who knocked out the window at Peninsula Runners (3659 Shelbourne St.), though they are still unsure whether the store was robbed.

"Items in the store were displaced off display racks, but right now we cannot be sure what, if anything, was taken," Staff Sgt. Mark Muth said.

The incident occurred around 4:30 a.m. and police were alerted to the scene by the alarm company.
