The house where a woman was attacked with an edged weapon in 2017 is for sale in Oak Bay.

The home, at 2590 Esplanade, is currently listed by the Binab Group as a pocket listing — meaning no details have been released. However, on an Instagram post, the Binab Group did reveal the kitchen and some bathrooms have been renovated.

The property has been assessed at $3.367 million.

On April 25, 2017, Oak Bay Police responded to a 911 call originating from a home in the 2500-block of Esplanade, near Willows Beach. They found a 45-year-old woman who had suffered significant injuries and she was transported to hospital. The woman survived the attack.

The woman heard noises coming from her kitchen around 7:30 a.m. There, she discovered an unknown man whom she confronted. An altercation followed which led to the woman being struck several times with an edged weapon, which police said at the time may have been a machete.

Saanich Police have since taken lead on the investigation. They confirmed on Jan. 9 that the investigation is still active, but that no arrests have been made.
