The driver involved in a hit and run in Saanich on Saturday night has come forward to police.
Saanich Police report the driver of the suspect vehicle in a collision on Wilkinson Road at Glen Tara Lane has come forward, and police have seized the vehicle and continue their investigation into a charge of failing to stop at the sence of a collission.
The driver of the vehicle that was struck in the crash remains in serious hospital.

Saanich Police are seeking the public’s assistance in locating the driver of a vehicle involved in a motor vehicle collision Saturday night.
At about 10:20 p.m., Saanich Police responded to a motor vehicle collision on Wilkinson Road at Glen Tara Lane, close to the intersection of Wilkinson and Interurban. Two vehicles were involved in the crash, with one vehicle leaving the scene prior to police arrival.
Police report a Smart car was travelling south on Wilkinson and appears to have been rear-ended by the suspect vehicle. The Smart car then travelled farther along the roadway colliding with a parked Jeep Cherokee. The driver of the vehicle was transported to hospital with what initially appeared to be minor injuries. However, the victim has been downgraded and is now in serious condition at hospital. Police believe the victim may not have been wearing a seat-belt.
Police at the scene were able to obtain damaged parts from the suspect vehicle. It is believed to be a white Kia Optima sedan. Investigation continues and police are hoping to determine a model year for the suspect car. The suspect vehicle will have sustained front-end damage and police are hoping a member of the public will be able to assist police in locating the vehicle and driver of the suspect car.
The owner of this vehicle is urged to contact police on their own accord to provide the details of the incident.
