It’s interesting reading about Saanich council’s attempt to improve the public consultation process – a most welcomed and commendable step indeed.
Citizens of Saanich can’t help but wonder what took so long for this initiative. Susan Brice and Vic Derman (who are so gleefully taking much credit for this move) have been on council for many years, and yet during this time there was nary a mention nor initiative of substance in this direction. Now, all of a sudden, comes the eureka moment (better late than never).
What kick-started this? Could it be the enlightened community-centred approach of Mayor Atwell?
