LETTER: Fletcher burned by his own bias

Mr. Fletcher has done it – again. First, he downplays B.C.’s current wildfire disaster by noting that: “B.C. statistics aren’t complete yet, but measuring by area burned provincewide, this year likely won’t match the record in 1958.”

Mr. Fletcher has done it – again. First, he downplays B.C.’s current wildfire disaster by noting that: “B.C. statistics aren’t complete yet, but measuring by area burned provincewide, this year likely won’t match the record in 1958.”

As of Aug. 16, the B.C. Wildfire Service confirms the province is experiencing the worst wildfire season on record, according to CBC reporting.

Secondly, Mr. Fletcher chastises the NDP’s “photo-op”while touring the fire zone, “for pictures wearing the red uniform of the B.C. Forest Service. Pro tip for next time: don’t put on a uniform you haven’t earned the right to wear.”

I don’t recall him ever dissing Christy Clark’s penchant for wearing hardhats in many of her photo-ops. Is he implying (by his absence of opinion) that Ms. Clark picked up a shovel when the cameras were stowed away?

Mr. Fletcher continues to jump the gun, it seems.
