In the Sept. 27 Saanich News BC Views column ‘B.C. politicians loot public treasury,’
Tom Fletcher writes: “All told, it comes to about $27 million in tax money handed to the NDP, Green Party and the B.C. Liberals over the next four years, in what Horgan falsely claimed is a temporary measure.”
So the amount comes to less than $7 million per year, if Mr. Fletcher’s figures are correct. According to the Taxpayer.com debt clock, B.C.’s debt increases by $1,000 every five seconds or so, or $17 million every day. That $7 million a year isn’t even a “rounding error” (as some economists put it), yet it serves to lessen outside influences on the way this province is governed.
Is spending a $1.75 a year for each citizen of B.C. worth levelling the playing field, Mr. Fletcher?
