Political scare tactics

If Jim Shepard, of Concerned Citizens 4 British Columbia 2017 (Letters, April 21), really wants to scare British Columbia’s voters, he should concentrate on the rarely mentioned contractual obligations that the BC Liberals have created to foist debt onto future generations of B.C. citizens.

Estimates put this debt at $100 billion, which, added to the burgeoning provincial debt of $67 billion (up about $30 billion since the 2001 win by the Campbell Liberals) is creating quite the financial load to be borne by the citizens of this province.

This is a mind-numbing fact, while the LEAP Manifesto is fanciful thinking, like many New Year’s resolutions to lose weight or exercise more.
