Vehicle fumes worse than cigarettes in downtown Victoria

Non-smoker voices concerns with effect of traffic on Douglas Street

It is insanity. Cars and trucks can drive down Douglas Street and pump out tons of exhaust fumes every day, but people are not allowed to smoke on the sidewalk.

Perhaps the right thing to do would be to ban private vehicles in our city and allow people the right to have a smoke if they feel like it. I do not smoke myself, but I know that I am much more threatened by exhaust fumes than cigarettes. I would like to see ashtrays, not private vehicles in our city.
