The inaugural Canada West Women's Rugby Sevens Series comes to Saanich this weekend as the UVic Vikes host the two-day event at Wallace Field, Feb. 18 and 19.

It's the second tournament of the season (UBC's chance to host was dashed by heavy snowfall two weeks ago).

Game times are here. The tournament is in its first of a three-year pilot project that has been made possible through a partnership with B2ten and Rugby Canada. So far the Vikes are a perfect 6-0 in the series as they won the opener in Edmonton back in January. With the tournament victory, the Vikes earned 10 series points and are two up on the Calgary Dinos atop the table.

Ten points will be handed out to this weekend's tournament winner, as the six teams look to cap off their abbreviated rugby 7s season on a winning note. The inaugural Canada West Women's Rugby Sevens Series champion will be crowned on Sunday (Feb. 19) based on the standings.
