Jewish community marks two major holidays

Both events are at the Jewish Community Centre, 3636 Shelbourne Ave.

The Victoria Society for Humanistic Judaism will mark two major Jewish traditions in the coming weeks.

Non-traditional services for Rosh Hashanah, also known as the Jewish new year, will be held Sept. 25 at 5 p.m. It will be led by ceremonial leader Sharon Kobrinsky and resident musicians.

The event is followed by a potluck supper.

On Oct. 4, the society will celebrate Yom Kippur. The fast is followed by a potluck supper.

Both events are at the Jewish Community Centre, 3636 Shelbourne Ave.
