Midwifery advocates staging walk this week

Midwives and the women they’ve supported through childbirth are walking to support International Day of the Midwife tomorrow (May 5).

Walks are being held around the world to mark the day as a way of raising awareness about maternal and newborn health, and the growing need for midwifery locally and globally.

The walk begins at 4 p.m. at Clover Point, rain or shine, and continues along the Dallas Road walkway to Government Street, then north to the legislature.
