Victoria's largest boat and fishing show at Pearkes Recreation Centre Feb. 17 to 19

Pearkes Recreation Centre is reeling in Victoria’s largest boat and fishing show from Feb. 17 to 19

Returning for its 24th year, the Victoria Boat, Fishing and Outdoor Show has expanded to include more variety in exhibitors and products than ever before. Attendees can explore more than 30,000 square feet of exhibits, catch free and informative seminars and participate in various family-friendly activities.

“The Victoria Boat, Fishing and Outdoor Show is a great chance for attendees to connect with experts, guides and other fishing and outdoor enthusiasts on Vancouver Island,” says show director Kevin Blackburn. “From the latest boats and gear to fishing tours and luxury resorts, the show will have something to offer all attendees.”

Some of the features of the show include an indoor air gun range from the Victoria Fish and Game Protective Association, an archery range presented by Island Outfitters, who also stocked a fishing pond. There will also be a seminar theatre with a wide range of speakers and topics as well as a prize raffle.

Students from Nakusp secondary school’s Outdoor Education Program will be showcasing their own handmade fishing products as well as conducting demonstrations on how to start a fire with only a spark.

The show runs Friday from 1 to 8 p.m., Saturday  from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is $9 for adults, $7 for seniors, with women and children under 18 admitted free. You can get $2 off the regular admission with a donation to the Mustard Seed food bank.
