PHOTOS: Raining pumpkins at smashing Saanich fundraiser

Firefighters dropped unwanted jack-o'-lanterns from a 100-foot fire engine ladder

It was raining pumpkins in Saanich on Nov.2, as residents gathered up their unwanted jack-o'-lanterns for disposal at the Tillicum Centre.

With help from Saanich firefighters, the aging gourds were dropped from a 100-foot fire engine ladder, much to the delight of onlookers.

Money raised at the event went to the Saanich Fire Fighters' Charitable Foundation, which supports youth projects in the local area.
