POLL RESULTS: Fake Christmas tree vs. real Christmas tree

The votes are in after Black Press readers shared their festive favourite

To tree, or not to tree, that’s the question.

This week Black Press put forward a poll to see if people are in favour of fake Christmas trees or real ones, and there was a resounding answer.

While there’s something nostalgic and fun about going out to a tree farm, picking out the perfect pine, and living with the sappy scent of genuine forestry, the majority of voters opted instead to unpack a box and click together some artificial branches.

As of Thursday night, more than 58 per cent of voters said they go for the fake tree, perhaps in favour because of its convenience and the option to reuse.

More than 32 per cent said real was the way to go, perhaps happy with its refreshing presence and the possibility to compost it into mulch.

Nearly 10 per cent voted for “other,” and while the tree alternative isn’t clear, the option was put forward for those who might not put a tree up at all.

Do you agree with the results? If not, you can always head to the poll to let us know.
