Colour has arrived. We sure waited long enough this spring for the arrival of the spring blossoms and flowers.
Driving around Saanich has been such a pleasure these last few weeks with the beautiful flowers and trees in bloom. The tulips in the round bed at Quadra and McKenzie are a favourite of mine, this is an intersection I frequent every day.
Pantone is the world-renowned authority on colour and provider of colour systems. It is the standard language for colour communication, and they put out forecasts seasonally as well as the colour of the year. For the spring 2017 fashion colour report, they chose a beautiful palette of colours from nature that were on the runway for the New York Fashion Week spring collections.
Primrose yellow, lapis blue, flame, kale and the colour of the year: greenery, were a few of the colours chosen as top colours for spring 2017 fashion. Designers chose hues that evoke emotion and feeling that surround us in our natural environment, palettes that bring us back to what is simple and complex in nature.
This report has been out for six months, but it is only now that we can see the clarity of the colours as they appear blossoming before us.
