Teen's wish gets answered

B.C. Transit, Help Fill a Dream Foundation sends Saanich youth to Disneyland

A Saanich teen got her dream trip today, and helped B.C. Transit and the Help Fill A Dream Foundation celebrate the foundation's 25th anniversary.

Katrina Lavery,15, who suffers from a severe form of epilepsy that causes several seizures a day, was presented with a Disney cruise to Disneyland, and help cut the anniversary cake.

A family member accepted the dream on behalf of the teen, who is in hospital.

More than 700 dreams have been granted to Vancouver Island kids who suffer from life-threatening illnesses, since B.C. Transit driver, Rick Thomas, started the foundation in 1986. More than $250,000 has been raised in support more than 1,900 families.
