Victoria's Craigdarroch Castle is preparing for murder – the theatrical kind – as an award-winning local improv company brings back its popular mystery series this November.

Paper Street Theatre Company's Murders on Paper Street will transform the historic mansion into a crime scene for eight performances, inviting audiences to follow performers up and down the castle's 87 stairs in search of clues.

"This has become a perennial favourite with Castle theatre-goers," John Hughes, executive director of Craigdarroch Castle, said in a news release. "We anticipate another sold-out run for this distinctive murder mystery."

The Agatha Christie-inspired production, directed by Dave Morris, creates a unique improvised mystery for each performance. Shows run Nov. 7 to 9 and 14 to 16 at 7 p.m., with additional 5 p.m. performances on both Saturdays.

The internationally recognized company has performed at festivals in Vancouver, London, Romania, and Amsterdam, winning multiple awards for their theatrical approach to improvisation.

Tickets are $32 plus fees and can be purchased through the castle's website or by calling 250-592-5323.
