View Royal composer to write music live for audience at tonight’s show

Jared Richardson presents an evening of music at the Atrium Building

Music lovers attending a local concert tonight (Nov. 28) will witness melodies created right before their eyes and ears during An Evening with Jared.

Former Symphony Splash musician Jared Richardson will perform familiar pop songs and original compositions at The Atrium building in his final concert in Victoria before he heads back to Los Angeles to continue working on his musical career.

Richardson, who will play piano and sing, will be accompanied vocally by his sister, Kait Rich, currently a contestant on The Bachelor Canada, as well as Ash Richardson on bass and Kelby MacNayr on drums.

One of the fun parts of the evening will see the young composer demonstrate his ability to write quickly, as he plans to compose short songs on the spot based on topics suggested by audience members.

Former Victoria Symphony music director Peter McCoppin, who Richardson has called a musical mentor, will emcee the event, which runs from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. at 800 Yates St. Admission is free.
