A celebration of life for former Langford council member and West Shore Rebels general manager Roger Wade will be held at Starlight Stadium at 3:30 p.m., on Thursday, Aug. 14.
On July 23, it was reported that the longtime Langford resident and four-term city councillor had died, prompting condolences being shared by sports teams, politicians and community leaders that Wade had worked with over his "remarkable life."
"We invite friends, family, and community members to join us in celebrating Roger's remarkable life. This gathering will be a time to share memories and stories, and to honour a man who spread joy and love to everyone he encountered." noted a release from the West Shore Rebels.
Attendees of the celebration are encouraged to wear sports jerseys, and in lieu of flowers, they are encouraged to donate to KidSport Greater Victoria, which was dear to Wade's heart according to the release.
