LETTER: Saanich resident supports Harper for byelection

Myself and others have been assessing the Saanich council candidates in the byelection, in terms of their positions on the Environmental Development Permit Area (EDPA), as well as other issues and attitudes towards residents.

I believe that there are many well-qualified, excellent people running and look forward to many of these being possible council members in 2018 after the municipal election. However, for the Sept. 23 byelection, I personally would like to recommend Karen Harper, who I believe will improve the situation with the EDPA regarding an improved bylaw, which would include important action to enhance the environment in Saanich, as well as improve implementation by staff.
