SIDNEY — Business owners in Sidney are warning each other about a possible scammer or shoplifter operating in the area.

In a recent email, circulated among Sidney Downtown Business Improvement Area (SBIA) members, a video image capture shows a possible suspect in the Sidney IDA Pharmacy.

“We have been alerted to a scam that has occurred in two local businesses now being tracked by the RCMP,” stated the email from the SBIA.

The latest incident involved a man trying to return something they said they had purchased. When questioned, the individual left the store.

The Sidney North Saanich RCMP indicated they are investigating these incidents.

Anyone with issues or concerns over such actions, or are facing a threat, is being asked to call the local RCMP right away.
