Saanich hopes to engage its residents and “shape policies” in the community with a new tool called HelloSaanich.
“Saanich is thrilled to launch our new engagement platform and we encourage everyone to participate in opportunities to help shape policies and initiatives,” Mayor Dean Murdock said in a news release.
The new engagement platform offers citizens another way to have a say on local projects and initiatives. The district feels the platform will better facilitate public engagement through more robust tools and a modern, user-friendly design.
“Your input is essential to help us understand the perspectives, opinions, and concerns of our valued community. You can register on our new platform to share your thoughts and stay updated on the projects that matter most to you,” Murdock said.

HelloSaanich is a place to share, discuss and collaborate, with active participation projects shown on the homepage. Each participation project may have a different mode of engagement, whether it’s adding an idea, commenting on a proposal, voting on and prioritizing projects, or taking a survey.
Current projects that the tool showcases include 2024 budget engagement, the Quadra-McKenzie study, capital works projects and parks projects.
