Large cougar spotted near Pat Bay Highway in Central Saanich

Police asking the public to be aware

Police are alerting the public about a large cougar being spotted in the area near Mount Newton Cross Road and the Pat Bay Highway on Tuesday (July 2) night. 

Central Saanich police said the cougar was seen in the 7300-block of the highway and was travelling east around 10 p.m.  

No conflicts with people were reported but police are asking the public to be aware.
