The Saanich Police Department says they have arrested and charged a "prolific offender" in connection to a break and enter.

In the early morning of Wednesday, Dec. 11, police say they were alerted to a break and enter at a home in the Cordova Bay area where a "large number of items" were stolen from a home.

"Further information led us to a storage facility in Victoria’s jurisdiction, where all the stolen items were located inside a locker," noted a news release from Saanich PD.

On Dec. 12, with the help of VicPD, the alleged thief, Andrew Knowland, was arrested without incident on Bay Street.

Knowland has been charged with five "criminal offences related to the break and enter." He remains in custody with a future court date pending.
