Waking up to the snow might be pretty, but it’s causing a headache for most of the Island.

According to BC Transit’s Twitter page, all bus routes may be late in Greater Victoria.

The BC Transit website has been experiencing an ongoing website outage, concerned transit riders are urged to check for updates via Twitter, Facebook or the Transit app.

Transit service has resumed on Saltspring Island, but is servicing the main road only.

As of 10:30 a.m. a list of detours and cancellations has been posted:

Route 13 - Closed

Route 22 Vic General/Hillside Mall - Not servicing Holland/Hasting, Little Wilkinson

Route 32 N/B - only Royal Oak L-Pat Bay Hwy R-Sayward to regular route

Route 35 Ridge - still closed

Route 54 Metchosin and 55 Happy Valley - not servicing Duke Road

Route 63 not servicing Whiffin Spit

Route 64 not servicing Lanilar Loop turning around Gillespie at Rock Point

Route 72 Swartz Bay/Downtown - not servicing McTavish Park and Ride

Route 75 Not servicing Verdier

Route 82 Saanichton/Sidney - not servicing McTavish Park and Ride

Route 83 Sidney/Brentwood/Royal Bay - not servicing Verdier Loop, Quayle, Beaver or Beaver Lake Road, McTavish Park and Ride

handyDART is running on essential service only today

The B.C. Ministry of Transportation and Infastructure warns drivers to use caution on the roads today, tweeting a reminder that speed limits are for ideal conditions and to slow down.

A reminder not to pass snow plows on the road was also tweeted out this morning by Mainroad North Island Contracting LP.
