Bus-stop masturbator reveals himself again

Teens, women targeted within 20 minutes Sunday

The bus-stop masturbator was at it again this weekend, exposing and fondling himself in front of women.

On Sunday (April 17), at 1 p.m., he was seen by three girls, age 13, outside a bus shelter in the 700-block of Finlayson Street, near Mayfair Mall. The man exposed himself and touched himself when the girls looked at him. When a fourth person approached, the man fled on foot.

Twenty minutes later, a man of the same description approached two Asian women, age 22 and 29, while they took refuge from the rain under a carport in the 100-block of Cook Street. Again, he exposed his genitals and touched himself.

These incidents bring the number of similar cases, by a suspect of the same description, to about 17 since January.

The suspect is described as white and between the ages of 20 and 35, about 6’ tall and weighing 190-220 pounds, with a medium build and short brown hair.

Police are asking any other witnesses to come forward, and hope a witness will be able to snap a photo of the suspect to provide better identification. Officers also hope witnesses will report sightings quickly, so police can rush to the area.

“It’s safe to say this individual would know that the police know (what he’s doing) and that hasn’t discouraged his behaviour,” said Sgt. Grant Hamilton.

Any witnesses should call Det. Kevin Lastiwka at 250-995-7234 or leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
