Cash, evidence seized in Saanich Peninsula drug raid

Sidney North Saanich RCMP and the Central Saanich and Saanich police departments say they have made a series of arrests following “a multi-jurisdictional investigation into the production of controlled substances and related trafficking offences.”

The departments have announced they will be holding a media conference Tues., Feb. 7 at 1 p.m. at the Sidney RCMP station, placing some of the seized evidence on display. According to the RCMP in a statement today, search warrants were executed by police recently, leading to a seizure of controlled substances and more than $1 million in cash.

In the statement, Corporal Doug Wilson of the Sidney North Saanich RCMP stated charges have now been laid against “multiple individuals involved in the illegal drug operation.”
