A man who was living in the residential unit of CFB Esquimalt has been charged with drug trafficking.
A release provided by the Department of National Defense said Noah William Currie, a Canadian Armed Forces civilian who was living at CFB Esquimalt residential housing, is alleged to have possessed methamphetamine and MDMA in Sept. 2017 with the intent to traffic.
Currie, 20, is in prison after being arrested by the Victoria Police for attempted theft and the exclusion of evidence in 2017. In Dec. 2017, he also was found guilty of breaching an undertaking. There are two court records from 2018 regarding Currie that are under a publication ban. He was charged for two counts of trafficking on Nov. 15.

The investigation began in June 2017 after a complaint that someone was trafficking at the residential housing unit in Victoria. Currie was arrested on Jan. 8, 2018 after a search warrant was executed.
In 2019, Currie will also appear in court for eight charges from April 28, 2018, in Esquimalt that include assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm, use of firearm, uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, possessing a firearm without a licence and/or registration and motor vehicle theft.
