Colwood residents took to social media to question a Vancouver company’s professionalism.

The discussion started when Trudy Spiller posted on Colwood Community Association Facebook group Monday asking if residents have had Canadian Property Stars (CPS) workers come to their door following a peculiar encounter.

The man reportedly said he “used to work for Canadian Property Stars” and asked if they would like their lawns aerated. Bill Spiller replied that he’d already booked with CPS, it states.

According to the post, 10 minutes later, another man arrived with aerator and “was adamant that Bill give his credit card.” Bill told the man CPS usually sent a bill, it states, and asked him to call back later for the payment. The man called back later and asked that Trudy give her credit card number.

“The guy was adamant that [Trudy] either give my VISA # or he would come pick up cash but either way, he was getting his money!”

“The same guy came to my house twice in 45 minutes. Dazed and confused?” Craig Liddell wrote.

Cheryl Barnes replied to the comment, writing, “I used them once and they made a huge mess. Then they proceeded to power wash my back yard deck and charge me $500 extra. I’d never use them again unfortunately.”

“Isn’t the ground still frozen?” one user asked.

A representative from the head office confirmed CPS is working in Colwood at the moment.

“Workers go on the route a few times because they aren’t always home,” the representative said.

CPS couldn’t immediately provide a spokesperson for the area for the article.
