A cyclist was killed by a large truck Monday afternoon near the border of Saanich and Victoria.
The incident happened around 2 p.m. at the southeast corner of Burnside Road West and Harriet Road. Paramedics rushed the man to hospital, but he died en route. The intersection was closed for several hours while the Victoria police department’s crash team investigated.
The truck driver remained at the scene following the collision and was co-operating with investigators, police said.
