Free skin cancer screenings at UVic on Tuesday

Skin cancer is the most common form of cancer in the world, with 81,300 new cases of non-melanoma skin cancers to be diagnosed in Canada

Skin cancer is the most common form of cancer in the world, with 81,300 new cases of non-melanoma skin cancers to be diagnosed in Canada this year alone.

Another 5,800 Canadians will receive the diagnosis of melanoma in 2012. Of those, 970 will die.

The Canadian Dermatology Association hosts a free skin cancer screening this Tuesday (June 5), from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in rooms C108, C109 and C110 of the Clearihue Building at the University of Victoria.
