The Saanich Police Department is looking to speak with two Good Samaritans who found a wallet linked to a historic investigation.

On Oct. 12, 2022, two people believed to be in their 60s turned in a wallet they had found while walking in the Blekinsop Lake Park area.

Since that time, investigators have determined the wallet is linked to a historic Saanich file from the late 1980s. Detectives with the department’s major crime unit are looking to speak with the Good Samaritans to get more information from them.

“We know some time has passed since this wallet was turned in but we’re hopeful that these two individuals hear this and come forward to speak with our investigators,” said Const. Markus Anastasiades, in a statement.

The Saanich Police Department can be reached at 250-475-4321.
