A Habitat for Humanity project will break ground in Saanich in the coming months, after council approved the 1.5-storey duplex Tuesday.
The project, to be located at 409 Ker Ave., near Tillicum Centre, will house two families in need of an affordable place to live.
Coun. Susan Brice, citing a “textbook location” near amenities and a creative design that respects the neighbouring properties, said it’s an easy application for council to support.
“Keep ‘em coming. Don’t be a stranger,” said Mayor Frank Leonard about Habitat for Humanity projects in Saanich.
