Knife used in Saanich video store hold-up

Saanich police are looking to ID a man who held-up a Saanich video store, brandishing a large hunting knife.

The incident occurred Monday evening just after 5 p.m. at Xanavision Video in the Royal Oak Shopping Centre. The man entered the store and browsed the DVD shelves for a couple minutes until finally approaching the front desk.

He pulled out a large hunting knife and demanded money. He fled on foot with a small amount of cash.

Police officer and a canine unit weren’t able to track down the man.

He is described as a 6' to 6'2" white, and approximately 200 pounds with a medium build. He has dark or tanned skin, and stubble on his face. He was wearing a blue sweatshirt and blue sweat pants.
