Kraft Dinner used to assault convenience store clerk

No charges laid in early morning incident at Douglas Street shop

A woman who Victoria police say became upset at being refused service at a Douglas Street convenience store allegedly assaulted the clerk with a box of Kraft Dinner.

The incident, which happened at 1:23 a.m. on Monday (Dec. 26), began when there was an exchange of words at the counter between the clerk and two customers.

"The woman customer took exception to the refusal of service on this occasion and grabbed the best available weapon she could find at that moment - a box of Kraft Dinner," John Ducker, Victoria's deputy chief of police said on the department's operations blog.

The couple left the store and were found by officers nearby "moderately intoxicated," Ducker said, adding the two parties had provoked the other.

"The officers advised the clerk to call the police in future if refusing service agitates someone, while the customers were advised not to enter the store when this particular clerk is on duty," Ducker wrote. "No charges are contemplated and the “KD” was returned to the shelf undamaged."
