The Lakehill Community campaign to purchase a van for nine-year-old Dacian Filipescu is nearly halfway to its goal.
Filipescu suffers from muscular dystrophy and his family and friends have been working hard to fundraise for a wheelchair accessible van.
This Saturday, 1 to 3 p.m., the group is co-hosting a Lego Building Event at Saanich Commonwealth Place with the Victoria Lego Users Group and Heroes. Inc.
Commonwealth Place donated the space. Entrance is by donation.
The currently total raised for the van is $20,355 with a goal of $45,000.
