Just before noon Thursday, Environment Canada was recording temperatures as low as - 5 C at the Hartland Landfill. However, with the windchill, temperatures are expected to drop as low as -16 C today.

Temperatures are slightly warmer in areas closer to the shore.

More snow could fall starting this evening, with the forecast calling for two to four centimetres by the morning.  There’s also a possibility of freezing rain with temperatures finally warming up Friday afternoon to a predicated 4 C.

Rain and highs of 7 C on Saturday and Sunday should help dissipate most of the remaining snow.
