More than 3,000 Sooke residents were without power Saturday afternoon.

The power went out at approximately 2:40 p.m. on Oct. 24 for 3,045 BC Hydro customers in the area west of Goodridge Road and north of West Coast Roads.

It was restored at approximately 5:30 p.m.

There were two polling stations impacted by the outage – the CRD Building at Otter Point and Edward Milne Community School – but both were still open to voters during the outage. The power went off briefly and came back on at Edward Milne Community School and the CRD Building had a generator.
