A Saturday afternoon blaze in the 700-Block of Lily Ave. caused $50,000 in damages to a residence and another $10,000 to its contents. No one was injured.
Fire fighters arrived just after 2:30 p.m. to find smoke in the basement and second floor of the home. Eighteen fire fighters in two engines, two ladder trucks, one rescue truck and a command vehicle responded and quickly contained the fire.
Upon arrival, firefighters could see smoke coming from the basement area and the second floor. The fire was confined to interior walls of the structure and was quickly contained.
No injuries were reported and the cause is currently under investigation.
