Crews have reconnected remaining customers previously without power following an outage in East Sooke.

BC Hydro said power had been off since 10:35 a.m. on Sunday morning but was set to be on for all customers at 2 p.m. The outage is currently impacting five customers near the 700 block on Cains Way.

BC Hydro tweeted that an outage in the area was impacting 1,161 customers the evening of Jan. 22, caused by a motor vehicle accident.

The Sooke area has seen a number of power outages in the last two weeks, with BC Hydro dealing with several after January’s Greater Victoria snowstorm.

Some people in Victoria were also without power for the majority of the day on Jan. 23, with the power provider doing scheduled maintenance on some equipment. The outage impacted around 175 customers near the 1100 block of Yates Street and was finished after 4 p.m. on Sunday.
