Crews were out dealing with an early morning snowfall Tuesday.
Emcon Services Inc.’s south Island division urged motorists to be cautious, especially if heading north over the Malahat and into the Cowichan Valley.

Emcon also reminded drivers to allow extra time for the morning commute.
Flurries could linger into late morning Tuesday (Jan. 31) with up to 2 cm falling over portions of Greater Victoria before shifting to rain as temperatures rise to an expected 5 C.
Students at Vic High get a snow day due to the cold weather combined with heating issues at the school.
The Greater Victoria School District said due to heating issues there will be no classes at the school or Fairey Tech on Jan. 31. Issues are expected to be resolved with regular instruction resuming Feb. 1.
