Police investigating ‘unprovoked attack’ at Uptown bus stop

Saanich Police are warning the public and asking for help in identifying a man who attacked someone at a bus stop on Douglas Street Sunday night.

Authorities are calling it an “unprovoked assault” that took place beside Uptown Centre at approximately 6 p.m.

The victim was waiting for a northbound route 50 bus when he was struck by another man, who then boarded a busy BC Transit and fled the scene. The victim was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries and later released.

Police believe there were several witnesses to the assault and are asking anyone with information to step forward by calling police at 250-475-4321.
