Police are looking for a suspect after child was allegedly assaulted in Langford.

On Thursday, Nov. 30 at approximately 4:30 p.m. a 10-year-old child was riding a bike on Toth Place (near Strandlund Avenue) in Langford when a man allegedly came out of the bushes, punched the child in the stomach and walked away.

The suspect is described as wearing a black baseball cap, black jacket, black gloves and had a “grumpy” face.

“We ask parents to talk to their kids about being safe when playing outside and who they can turn to when they need help, whether it’s another adult, a teacher, firefighter, paramedic, or police officer, whoever they feel safe with,” said West Shore RCMP Const. Matthew Baker.

Anyone with information about this investigation is asked to contact the West Shore RCMP by calling 250-474-2264 or anonymously through Crime Stoppers, 1-800-222-8477.
