Saanich police are looking for witnesses to an assault and attempted armed robbery Monday night.
Around 8:45 p.m. a 19-year-old man was walking through the Bank of Montreal parking lot at the intersection of Cook and Quadra streets when he was approached from behind by a man who demanded his belongings.
The suspect struck the victim with a weapon and a fight ensued before the suspect ran off towards Quadra Street.
The victim suffered minor injuries.
