Police seek witnesses to April 8 assault that caused serious head injuries

Saanich police are looking for anyone who witnessed an assault two Fridays ago (April 8) that landed one man in hospital with very serious head injuries.

An altercation occurred around 10 p.m. at the Esso gas station at the corner of Quadra Street and McKenzie Avenue. Police arrived to find a semi-conscious man on the ground, gurgling and bleeding from his mouth.

Upon speaking with witnesses, it was determined the man had been involved in some kind of altercation that led to him being kicked to the ground and hitting his head. Two men were seen running from the area.

A police dog wasn’t able to find any suspects.

The victim was transported to hospital, but his current condition could not be verified.
